Team Biography

​

Southbrook Titans was originally formed in 2018 by Kate and Nicola. Kate wanted to create the first all girls football team within Southbrook for her daughter Frankie at U13’s. During the years Kate managed to get her family involved with her sister Vicki and her boys Jack and Alfie becoming coaches within the team and club. The team continued for 4 years until the girls were old enough to start getting jobs and heading off to college. Many girls however continued to play football going into U18 and ladies. 

 

In February 2022 the newly formed ‘Little Titans’ began to train at Goals while the ‘Bigger Titans’ were finishing their season. Southbrook Titans now have a few of the old players to help at training as well as becoming qualified referees. 

 

The newly formed Southbrook Titans have spent the first season joining in with festivals with teams their own age organised by Hampshire Girls Youth Football League. Southbrook Titans continue to recruit more girls their age group to help promote girls football and make as many girl teams as they can. 

 

Southbrook Titans offer opportunities to have fun in a sociable way and stay active while making new friends. Training sessions are always well structured, positive and most importantly about having fun. It is not always about the winning for Southbrook Titans but taking part and developing as a team and as an individual. 

 

Kate has been a coach within Southbrook for 7 years, Vicki has been coaching for 4 years. Clare and Frankie are new to coaching this season.

Mental Health Support Officer

As of the 2023/24 season, the committee have introduced a Mental Health Support Team, with each club having their own Support Officer to be the port of call for anyone suffering with mental health. 

The volunteer for Titans is Lucy Bowers.
